QCI upcoming classes
Thompson Engineering offers online and in-person versions of our Qualified Credentialed Inspector (QCI) initial and refresher training courses to our clients. A schedule of our current training offerings appears below.
The standard registration fee for initial training is $400 per student. A $50 discount is available to students whose companies or organizations are members of one of our affiliated associations: Alabama Asphalt Paving Association, Alabama Road Builders Association, Associated General Contractors of Alabama, Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama, and Alabama Utility Contractors Association. Membership is subject to verification.
The fee for our online refresher training is $79. Please contact Cindy Roton at 251-665-5414 for more information about in-person refresher training opportunities and fees.
Our in-person training dates and locations are subject to change with notice. Classes may be cancelled or postponed if pre-registered attendance projections are not reached. Pre-registration is required and class sizes are limited. Walk-ins are not accepted at our in-person sessions.

Individuals who hold current ADEM QCI certifications from Thompson Engineering may satisfy their annual refresher training requirements by participating in the Field Day and taking a short online refresher course at a time of their choice consistent with their expiration dates. The $25 fee is for the online course only. The fee for the Field Day is additional. For more information, please call Cindy Roton or Ilka Porter at 251-666-2443.

The QCI initial training in-person class includes a pre-test, PowerPoint slides, videos, class exercise, product demonstrations, and a written final examination. The participants receive a workbook that includes copies of the presentation materials, a study guide, and other helpful references. We also provide each participant with a certificate of completion and a wallet-size card containing his/her assigned QCI number. Our instructors will share insights based on their knowledge and experience and encourage class participation, discussion, and interaction.
